According to the announcement from HEC, the scholarship will support students starting their studies in September 2026. Programs available include:

Bachelor’s degrees

Master’s degrees

PhD programs

These opportunities focus mainly on science-related fields, such as engineering, technology, health sciences, agriculture, and more.

Documents You Need to Prepare

To be considered, applicants must prepare and submit a complete application file. Here’s what you must gather:

1. Application Letter

Address it directly to the Director General of HEC. Keep it professional, clear, and brief.

2. National ID or Passport

A valid identification document is mandatory.

3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Summarize your academic background, achievements, and relevant experience.

4. Senior Six Results Slip or Academic Transcripts

For undergraduate applicants: Senior 6 National Exams slip

For Master’s and PhD applicants: Notarized certificates and transcripts

5. Chinese Government Scholarship Forms

These include general scholarship forms and the Medical Physical Examination Form, all available on the HEC website.

6. Employer Recommendation Letter

This is especially important for Master’s and PhD candidates. While not compulsory for everyone, it gives postgraduate applicants an added advantage.

 Academic Requirements

Applicants must meet specific academic standards:

1. Bachelor’s applicants:

Must have studied science-related fields with at least 80% in the 2025 Senior Six National Exams (or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad).

2. Master’s applicants:

Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Upper Division or its equivalent.

3. PhD applicants:

Must hold a Master’s Degree with a good pass.
