The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has officially announced an important nationwide exercise concerning the End of Term III Comprehensive Assessment for the 2025–2026 academic year. The announcement is directed to teachers, Headteachers, District Education Officers, School Supporters, Sector Education Inspectors, and other education stakeholders across Rwanda.

by Dr. Bernard Bahati, Director General of
NESA, the exercise aims to audit students' examination scripts to
ensure the accuracy of marks recorded in the Comprehensive Assessment Management Information System (CAMIS).
This initiative demonstrates NESA's continued

education assessment throughout Rwanda.
What Is the NESA Comprehensive Assessment Audit?
The Comprehensive Assessment audit is a
quality assurance exercise where selected End of Term III examination scripts from primary,
secondary, and TVET schools will be reviewed to verify that students' scores
entered into CAMIS accurately match the marks awarded on their examination
papers.
The audit is part of the implementation of
Rwanda's teacher learning-based Imihigo
and supports continuous improvement in educational standards.
Official Audit Dates
According to the NESA announcement, the audit
will take place from:
20th
July 2026 to 31st July 2026
During this period, public and
government-subsidized schools across Rwanda will participate in the exercise.
Schools Required to Participate
The audit will involve a sample of schools
from:
- Primary Schools
- Lower Secondary
Schools
- Upper Secondary
Schools
- Technical and
Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions
- Government-subsidized
schools
NESA indicated that the specific list of
selected schools will be communicated before the exercise begins.
Responsibilities of Teachers and Headteachers

available during the audit period.
