The Rwanda Basic Education Board has officially released the timetable for the long-awaited 2026 teachers and school administrative staff recruitment examinations. This announcement provides important details for all candidates who applied for teaching and school leadership positions across Rwanda.
According to the official notice
released on 27 May 2026, the recruitment exams will begin on Monday,
1st June 2026, and continue until Tuesday, 9th June 2026. The
examinations are scheduled to assess applicants for various teaching, school
leadership, and administrative positions in both primary and secondary schools.

Exam
Schedule for Teachers and Administrative Staff Recruitment
The examination timetable is
organized by subject combinations and professional categories to ensure smooth
coordination of the national recruitment process.
Day
One – Monday, 1st June 2026
The first day will focus on
language-related teaching positions, including:
- English and French Teacher
- English and Kinyarwanda Teacher
- English and Kiswahili Teacher
- Literature in English Teacher
- Psychology Teacher
- Taxation Teacher
- Inclusive and Special Needs Education Teacher
These exams will mainly be conducted
in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Day
Two – Tuesday, 2nd June 2026
Science and technical subject
candidates will sit for examinations, including:
- Chemistry and Biology Teacher
- Chemistry Teacher
- Computer Science Teacher
- ICT Teacher
- Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher
- Physics Teacher
- Accountant-Secretary
- Secretary
Day
Three – Wednesday, 3rd June 2026
This day is reserved for:
- Languages Teacher
- Mathematics and Science Teacher
- Pre-primary and Lower Primary Teacher
- Social and Religious Education Teacher
- Matron
- Patron

Four – Thursday, 4th June 2026
Candidates for the following
positions will be examined:
- Bursar
- Librarian
- Entrepreneurship and Economics Teacher
- Entrepreneurship Teacher

Five – Friday, 5th June 2026
The focus will shift to deputy
leadership positions:
- Deputy Headteacher in charge of Studies
- Deputy Headteacher in charge of Discipline
- Educational Psychologist

Six – Monday, 8th June 2026
- Head Teacher of Secondary School

Seven – Tuesday, 9th June 2026
- Head Teacher of Primary School

Information for Candidates
All applicants are advised to:
- Arrive at their assigned examination centers early
- Carry valid identification documents
- Carefully check their examination dates and sessions
- Follow all examination instructions strictly
Morning sessions are scheduled from 8:30
AM to 12:00 PM, while afternoon sessions will run from 1:00 PM to 4:00
PM, depending on the candidate’s category.
