Key Job Responsibilities

The Motorcycle Driver will play a critical role in ensuring timely and safe transportation services within the healthcare system. Major responsibilities include transporting medical supplies, assisting outreach activities, and ensuring motorcycle safety and maintenance.

The main duties include transporting medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and laboratory samples between health facilities, and safely transporting healthcare workers such as doctors, nurses, and support staff to outreach locations and remote communities. Ensuring timely delivery according to the assigned schedule is a core responsibility. The driver is also required to report any technical problems or maintenance needs to the Transport or Logistics Coordinator. Weekly and monthly reports must be prepared and submitted, detailing all transport activities and any incidents encountered.

Strict adherence to traffic laws, road safety regulations, and best driving practices is mandatory. Wearing all required protective gear, including helmets and reflective jackets, is compulsory at all times.

The role also involves supporting community health initiatives by assisting in the distribution of health materials, vaccines, and supporting mobile clinic activities. The driver will work closely with healthcare teams to coordinate outreach visits. Additional duties include assisting with logistics tasks within the health facility and performing any other transport-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid Driving License Category A, allowing them to operate motorcycles legally in Rwanda. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in motorcycle driving or transport services is required. Candidates must have at least an O-Level certificate as the minimum educational qualification.

In addition, applicants must submit a residency certificate (Icyemezo cy’uko utuye wandikirwa n’akagali) as part of the required documentation.

Meeting all these criteria is mandatory. Candidates who do not fulfill these requirements may be automatically disqualified during the screening process.
